ok here goes. i just found another crack in the block. :'( 2.5 90 yj. will any 2.5 block work, or do i need to stick with another 90? the engine still runs great, just pisses coolant. hence why i just want a block. im not sure how many people have a spare one laying around either.

Any AMC 2.5L block should do. I'd look for a late model. Maybe even get the MPFI complete for a later project. You should be able to take a complete MPFI engine and swap parts to make it TBI with all updated internals. Would make for a fairly simple swap.

i think im getting an engine out of a 93-94. it still runs, but i'd prefer to keep my head. im definately going to check the head to make sure it didnt warp or crack too. hopefully the alternator, waterpump still fit.

Unless you're really attached to it, I'd grab everything. You could even go with a TJ ODBII engine. For all teh accessories like the PS pump and Alt, you'll need to use your old brackets or else jsut convery over to the new stuff. You might run into differences in fittings though for the PS pump to PS box. The alternator changed from a Delco or a Denso, I believe. Waterpump should still be universal.
