Someone must know that I go for inspection in even numbered years. Every winter before inspection, I take a hit (or two) which unleashes a real obvious (6" for now) crack in my windshield, directly in front of the steering wheel.

Mine cracked a couple years ago.
It still is.

i dont know if it is legal for you guys in the US, but up here on the on the cheep cars and an all the farm stuff if i get a chip i just take a sharp new razor blade and cut a circle around the chip if you did it right it will only spider out to the circle and not anymore. just a tip till you can get a replacement.

Mine has cracked every winter before my inspection is due (july, even years). This is number 4, I think.
If it were just a small chip, I could repair, this thing is six inches long. It is cracked from the top edge of the windshield straight down. :brick:

Mine crecked, but from the inside (I have never had that happen before!) so you cannot fix that one. It got so bad that it goes all the way (vertically) across the windshield. I have a new one going in the Jeep this week, though, along with a new windshield frame (current one has a rust spot) and seals...

have 2 vertical cracks. had one for 6.5 years. the other about 5. no point when stones keep hitting it. no inspections here after the initial, so im good.

Hitting a deer this monday "helped" the crack turn into a rather geometric half moon.
Bulletproof FF5-1, Deer-0, although one of my foglights lost a lens.
