Title: Wrecked YJ Question
Post by: PSBarton on February 14, 2008, 01:24:04 PM
Hello Everyone.  I've got a 95 Wrangler that was hit in the driver side front fender area.  In addition to body work, the insurance adjuster says that the leaf spring and shackle will need to be replaced on that side.  Is it possible to replace an old stock leaf spring without replacing the others and still have the Jeep sit level?

if you could find a used spring that is sagged at the same level the rest of your are it could work.  but that might be hard to do.  if you have a good jeep boneyard in your town it would be worth checking out, just my .02

Just replace the pair, they are usually pretty cheap anyway.

+1

I'd replace them as a pair.  Leafs are usually around $200 a pair.

It's always recommended to replace leaf springs by the pair.  You'd be very lucky to have a used spring match the other side enough for the jeep to sit level.
