Title: lurker logs in
Post by: ssgstank on February 18, 2008, 10:17:15 PM

My name is James I have been lurking for a wile and decided to show my self.
I have an 87 Cherokee with 2in lift, junk yard electric fan conversion. rustys air tube for K&N conversion. home built cold air box. replaced all carpit with rubber. converted the vacume motor to cable pull, bar pin eleminators on the shock mounts and do most all my own wrench work. I think that covers it

Welcome aboard.     I'm thinking of doing the cable pull for my front axle.  Are you happy with the results?  Any recommendations on what/where to buy?

The vacume system was in op so having the 4wd ingage is a big improvement. I shoped around and got mine from Rustys off Road because it was $19 cheeper than next closest price. The conversion took a couple hours and was not hard at all do to the well written instuctions it comes with.
Just make sure to check knee to mounting braket clearance before you mount every thing. I did not and had to notch out the braket with the Drimmel and turn it around. Buy about 6 feet of heater hose rather than the foot or so they recomend. I did and my $9 in heater hose was good insurance for my $200 investment. I have found several places that were chafed on the hose and it saved the housing on the cable.
