Title: Lift Question
Post by: mack90 on February 19, 2008, 10:35:29 PM
I have a 1998 SE with the 4 cylinder. The plan is to run 33 12.50's. I have an OME HD lift ready to put on. I will have a superwinch EPi winch on the front, Kilby gas tank skid in the rear. Also in the rear a body armor tire carrier. Will the lift alone be acceptable for 33" tires? Would you recommend spacers or body lift with this configuration. I know this has been talked about before, but I'm guessing the 4 cylinder with a lighter AX5 will net more lift with the OME than a 4.0L.

Any advice is appreciated.

What size lift??  Personally, I think a 3" lift will be enough.

OME usually claims 2.5 but I have read that it may provide a bit more lift.  You could try the tires to see if they rub at full flex (it shouldn't be too bad) and then decide if you need a 1 inch body lift.

Thanks.  I was hoping the OME 2.5" HD would provide a little more than that.  I wasn't sure with the extra weight though.

You will need to add a one inch body lift regardless for the kilby gas tank skid plate to work. While you are at it you might as well add a one inch motor mount lift so you don't need to drop the t-case if you don't already have an SYE.
