is the 4.0l throttel body a good upgrade or not really the reason being i can get one real cheap? thanks for the help
-
Seems to be. I've got a bored out 2.5L throttle body on mine and it made a pretty noticable difference.
-
id say the 4.0L throttle body was a good and inexpensive upgrade for my jeep, pulls morea air and increased throttle response, personally i would do it for the cost its inexpensive!

Honestly speaking, I dont know if all by itself is that much of a difference, but combined with other things (injectors, good filter, etc.) I get a significant power increase in my rig (I specially notice it when driving down the highway; hills that used to require me dropping to 4th gear I can now overcome in 5th gear). My advise: get it!

thanks guys i already got the high flow intake and have the injectors just havent put them on yet

I've got a 62mm throttle body that will fit your jeep, larger bore than the 4.0L TB (55mm) and it removes the taper below the throttle plate, which means lightning quick throttle response. $85 plus a refundable core charge. Shoot me a PM or email. For anyone else interested, I should be getting in more '91-'04 TB's (62mm) real soon, just have one '91-'95 left right now.

is there anything else id need to bolt it on or will this one bolt on with no problems ?
-
Just use all your original sensors, including the IAS housing that's attached to the TB with 4 tamper-proof torx.

The process is VERY simple;
- Disconect hose from airbox to TB
- Disconect IAS and TPS cables
- Remove 4 Hex (mine are Hex because of the TB spacer; dont remember if the originals were Torx) bolts holding the TB in place
- Remove TB
- Remove IAS casing (4 tamper proof torx bolts)
- Remove TPS
- Install IAS casing and TPS in new TB
- Install TB and connect TPS and IAS cables
- Reconnect hose to airbox
You are done! This is probably the simplest mod to do to your Jeep...

Is bounty hunter on Jeepininin also? That name sounds like I should know it.
Anyway, will the computer adjust to everything ok with the new TB? Anybody every have any major problems with that when they did the swap?

Yes, but it takes a couple of minutes to "learn"... Idle will be off when you first start it, but it will adjust automatically. You can always disconnect the battery and have it "learn" from scratch.

I'm not on jeepininin, but I do wheel in Indiana on occasion. Usually Redbird and, to a lesser extent, the Badlands.
