Well, I'm in Moab and my D35 is making a very loud banging sound most of the time when I make a tight left hand turn, and I can feel the diff try to kick around. I left home (1000 miles ago) with a fresh installed EZ Locker, then I towed it all the way down here. I only put about 200 miles on it before I left, but I could hear it ratchet when I went around corners then. Now it doesn't have the audible ratchet. It seems to work when I need it but I'm a great deal worried that I could break something when I'm out on the trails.
I did bring the old spider gear setup and some spare gear oil, but I'm really in a quandry what to do. I figure I'll tag the Detroit rep when he gets here on Wednesday, but outside of that what should I be doing or not doing as the case may be? :brick:

EZ's are noisy and if you're not used to them, they can sound like something's gonna explode but then that's normal. Did you test the operation of the locker before you left. Ie, jack up the rear and lock and unlock each side by rotating the tire by hand. I'd imagine there were instructions on doing this with the locker.

mine was nice and "quiet" for about a year, then it gradually got louder and louder untill i couldnt stand it anymore and i removed it...what it is is when you hear it ratcheting its rounding the corners off the edges of the teeth and it starts to slip, when it slips it jerks and pops and makes all kinda of racket.
