Title: 5.9L v-8 magnum

Would a 1996 Dodge ram 1500 with a 5.9l magnum be a good donor vehicle for a v-8 conversion?  111k miles on it.  $4,500 Just curious.

$4500 sounds a little pricey for a 12 year old engine?

Lots of miles on that engine.  If you are buying it complete with the whole truck then that's the way to do it.  Otherwise you'll be spending your time getting little parts for ages.

Yeah it is for the whole truck...it is a long bed crew cab...with a tow package and air ride suspension.  I thought about just using it as a tow rig, but a v-8 swap is more fun.  I am probably gonna pass on it,  a family member offered it to me.  Thanks for the input.

While it's nice to have the entire driveline and wiring harness, $4500 is a lot of money to hack up a truck for an engine swap into a jeep.

I would think you could find a totaled one for under 1k.
