Title: Me and my dumb ways
Post by: flyingbrick on April 08, 2008, 08:55:18 PM
So it's more less spring and my mom has been bugging me to get her motorcycle running... (we all know how this is going to end) So i came back from some shopping and said ''what the hell lets get it running'' in-stall batt, fresh gas, roll out the shop, choke, start ,running... sweet, well i have not ridden in a bit I'll just go round the block, so there i am no helmet ( don't give me hell i know better), no jacket (don't give me hell i know better), I'm not going fast coming to a stop sing, go to stop hear the back end lock up an before i could do ANYTHING i was down. I think what happened was my lose shoe (don't give me hell i know better) slipped and hit the break harder, and with me on my moms bike (05 Honda Rebel 250) and me being such a big guy (235 LBS, 6' tall) that when it locked up gravity took over, and me being heaver then the bike...i went down.

The tally, bent right front peg, the windshield, small dent in tank, bent mirror, scraped and dirty as hell saddlebag, crushed ankle, my fair share of road rash, and one pair of jeans.

I know i should have been smarter and I'm luck i have walked away, and from now on i am no longer riding with out my ''racing'' jacket, and boots. the is one of the few times i have not warn my helmet. And i am going to buy a pair of gloves.

I know some of you guys ride and if your just taking your bike out of hibernation please don't be like me, be more careful then i was.

Never been down like that did have a shoe lace tangle in the brake and when I stopped to get gas the bike fell on me and I couldn't do anything to get it off.  Friends just laughed, it was more embarassing than painful.  Don't ride any more (no self control and the crotchrocket just kept getting faster) but my wife gets pissed when she sees these kids riding in tank top, shorts and sandles.
