How hard is it to convert a newer 2.5 engine into a 88 Jeep Wrangler, I would prefer to have upgraded hardened valve seats, There are a few engines available locally way cheaper than rebuilding mine.

If you reuse your intake & exhaust manifolds, as well as the TBI, it's pretty much drop in. It's when you do a proper swap to MPFI that it becomes more involved. You'll be either upgrading to OBD I or OBD II which has a lot of baggage. OBD II more so.

the blocks are identical, only internals and the head has changed but i think you can still bolt on the intake and exhaust. Oil pan could be different and the oil pump in your case (between comanche and wrangler) so you might want to research that as if i remember correctly the gaskets are also different.
