I am going to flush my coolant system this week and wanted to know if anyone uses the Prestone flush and fill kit. Is it worth using or just use the drain plug for the radiator?

I just used the drain plug when I did mine. It only takes 30 minutes to do the whole thing anyway, what are you going to save? 5 minutes? Not to mention you can use the time that it's draining to do other things! Changing fluids are the easiest things you can do anyway, enjoy it! :thumb:

I just used the plug on my radiator to do mine, and it was not an issue at all!

The only real advantage of the kit is that it allows you to backflush (reverse flow) the radiator to help get it clean. One disadvantage is that you have two move hose clamps (potential leaks) in your cooling system. I used Zerex cleaner (without the kit) and had good results. I guess it really depends on how skunked up your radiator is.
