I have been in the process of changing transmissions to a NV 3550. I think I have it all back together but now it won't start. I checked the spark plugs and I'm not getting any spark. Any clues?? There is a wire that is connected to the bellhousing and I'm not sure what it is. On the bellhousing of the ax-5 it looks like it has been pulled out from the bellhousing and 3 wires are hanging from above with no female connector. it looks like it has been out for a while. Any help or direction is greatly appreciated! Thanks

Did you install the CPS? It won't start without it.

the wires go to the crank sensor you might have damaged it or the connector when you swapped the transmission

I ended up pulling the wires out of the sensor. I re hooked the wires up and I have fuel now but no spark.

I agree with Jeffy; CPS!

Sorry guys I had to leave town for an emergency and just getting back. It was the cps, I guess it went bad? not really sure. I had re-wired it and it still wouldn't start. I ended up buying a new one and it fired right up. I left it under the care of my Dad and he was messing with the clutch. It will not operate. I went back and re-read the pirate forum on this swap and found that you have to elongate the push rod on the slave cylinder an extra 1/2" so it will work. My Dad made a longer push rod about an 1" longer, bled the lines and nothing? So he went back and made one that was 2 3/4" longer bled the line and nothing. The only difference is now when you push the clutch in and try to put it in gear it grinds like the clutch is not fully engaged. Any ideas? I'm going to make one a little longer tomorrow and see what happens. I'm just not sure if this will work. Am I missing something else???
