Title: Tire chart
Post by: Torqer on September 18, 2008, 08:53:48 AM
I know I saw a link to one on here somewhere, I just cant find it. I need to know a good starting point for tire size with lift kits. I would like to run 33/12.50 on a YJ. I have a 2.5 spring lift I havent installed yet because I can't buy the tires yet. A link to that tire fit chart will help me make up my mind. Thanks in advance

With 2.5 lift, the 33's will rub.  You will either need a 1" BL or TJ flares for the 33's to clear properly.

Yeah that is what I gathered from scanning the posts. I have a sawzall and I ain't afraid to use it. I have also been considering a SOA?SUA setup. The 2.5 lift springs were given to me so if I don't use them, I wont be out any money. Does anyone here have any experience with the Monolinear suspension that Pro Comp offers? A buddy of mine has a 6 inch kit and he likes it. I was just wanting some more input on it. I know it is hi $,1400 for the kit I believe, one guy with it isn't enough feedback to justify forking out the dough.

Wheeled with a guy last year running monoleafs SOA. Broke a spring on the first time out, he was pretty pissed. No pics of the carnage, but this is the rig beforehand.

If I went with the Mono, I wouldn't go SOA. That would be ridiculously tall. No need for that. 6" is the max lift for me. I would prefer to stay 4 or 5. What lift would I get with a shackle reversal?  thought about going that route with 2 1/2" springs. I know all of these answers are posted here somewhere, I just seem to run out of time looking for them. I appreciate the help.

A shackle reversal, when used offroad, will cause the tires to unload traction as the axle moves rearward as it travels up when you hit an obstacle on the trail.  Better for onroad use if that's your priority.
