Title: Soldier's Jeep Vandalized

Unbelievable...

DALLAS -- Dallas police are looking into a shocking crime against an Iraq War vet that took place on a college campus.

Overnight Tuesday, someone took vandalized 23-year-old Army veteran Viktor Whitlow's vehicle while it was parked at Dallas Baptist University. Ironically, the mascot at DBU is the Patriot.

The vandals used a box cutter to destroy the inside of his jeep, they slashed five tires and smashed through the windshield. Perhaps the most shocking detail to the vandalism was the message spray painted on his hood.

In red paint the vandals spraypainted the message, "Soldiers are murderers."

The message was quite a shock to Whitlow, who has been deployed twice to Iraq ans an Army reservist.

"It makes you seem like a murderer -- a cold blooded killer and that's not the case," said Whitlow.

Dallas police said Whitlow's case is not considered a hate crime because military personnel cannot be members of a hate crime.

Yeah, what an a-hole. It may sound strange coming from a foreigner, but i really admire the courage that your soldiers have, and everything the USA has done for the world, assuming almost all consequences. I really like WWII history, and sometimes just thinking about the soldiers disembarking on D-day or the 501 parachute infantry and the courage that they had to do the things that they did, just makes me look at my personal problems and challenges from a whole another perspective, like "How can i be complaining about having cold when those guys that were just my age, froze to death in Bastogne and sacrificed for all of us".

Again, it may sound strange coming from a foreigner, but i have thanked every vet i have had the pleasure to know, and i don't know how somebody could do that to a person that is risking his life for him, it just sucks.

If the guy really was a murderer, you really think some chick/dude would have summoned the guts to spray paint his TJ?  Nah.

Yes, the man undoubtedly served his country honorably in the military.  But perhaps some of the local students there in Texas want to be more afraid of him and he isn't providing them with enough of the fear they seek.

After the vandalism, however, the soldier in question becomes angry, guarded, and may persistently looks like he's ready to rip somebody's head off.

Suddenly the desire of the local students to be fearful of him is satisfied.  It makes them feel better:  They are now afraid of him more than they are afraid of events overseas that they have no input upon.

At least that's my theory.

Very nice of BTF's.

Those vandals sure did a number on the Jeep.  Probably saw the base sticker on the windshield.  Might have been better to put it on the front bumper.  I've heard from other .mil that this is a worry for some of them.
