im curious what i need to do to fit a set of 37s without rubbing too much. i currently have a 4" rc lift kit and 3/4" shackle lift or whatever... boomerangs. anyways would i be able to stuff them under my yj if i trim fenders or am im gonna be stretchin it too much ?

For starters bigger axles...
I recommend as little amount of lift as possible. It's better to cut the fenders and keep your CG lower. But like I said, you'll want bigger axles for sure unless you're not going to wheel it. Also, your gear ratio would really suck.

i plan on swapping in my 8.8 sometime soon. im gonna regear then as well. im sorry what does everyone think the biggest tire i could go with would be ?

Based on some local jeeps. With a ford 8.8 rear and D30 front you should run 33s. With a front alloy axles you could run 35s. A better setup for 35s is dana 44s front and rear. For 37s, dana 44s often work but you would be better off with 1 ton axles like dana 60s front and rear.

SHOW me the Money.
Man 37's & the Setup to run them could cost alot :(

The problem with keeping the front Dana 30 isn't that it isn't strong enough but rather, the limit on it's gearing. To really take advantage of 37's you'll want 5.38:1 or lower and the Dana 30 won't give you that. If you run a 4:1 or a bigger engine is planned then the D30 will be a weak point.
I'd run a minimum of two Dana 44's.

ok thanks for the input guys. ill just stick to ur advise and well run close to 33s im gonna get some 34 cookie cutters and that way i wont have to cut up my fenders. do u think 4.88s would be okay for running the 34s. i plan on gettin a 4:1 someday but the funds arent there right now for it.

34 SS's are more like 35's. My 34x9.5R15 SS measures 35" on the nose on my 15x8" wheel. 4.88:1 will be better then stock but, I think you'll be 'a little' better then where you are on stock gears and 33's.

Your gonna want to re-gear to 4.88's. I did that gear change about a month ago on my YJ. I'm running close to the same lift. I had trouble running on the highway with 33's and 4.10's and that was in 4th gear before the change. I just got back from hunting and the headwind was about 20 with 25+ gusts. Trying to buck the wind and throw in some small hills and you will be in 4th gear WITH 4.88's and 33's. Side wind is another thing to think about if you go higher. Earlier this week going to the fields I had to travel with about 10-17 mph side wind. It will knock you around some not. All the stabilizers/sway bars are in place on my YJ because of that. Think about drivability and what type of driving you do most.

With 37" Irocs I was destroying Dana 44 stub shafts. The D30 outters are pretty strong but the inners would not live too long unless you are very light on the pedal.

I just swapped my D30 for a HP44 that I put together. I went from 4.88's and 35's to 5.38's and 37's. I am real happy with the gearing. It's a bit better then my old set up. It feels like it has a fair amount more get up and go and the hills don't seem to bog it down so much.
I would agree with Jeff and build up a set of axles to handle the 37's before you put them on. For me it took almost 2 years to gather all the parts need to build my front and gears for the rear.
As for lift again I agree with Jeff smallest amount of lift. I have about 4 inch springs with 1 inch shackles and a 1.25 body lift. I cut a ton of sheet metal with TJ flares on the rear and tube fenders on the front. You don't need the tube fenders to run 37's.
