ok, here is my symptoms:
jeeps runs fine right now
got vanilla milk shake looking stuff under the oil fill cap
dipstick is covered in said vanilla milk shake
oil looks good, just the cap[ and dip stick look bad
jeep NEVER warms up (bought a new thermostat today)
if i open the rad cap while running, the coolant is flowing easily, and when i revv the throttle i get a little bit of foam in my coolant.
i was told might just be condensation in the engine from a poor dipstick/oil cap seal and my plan as of now is to replace the thermostat and see if foaming goes away, and if it does, then im going to keep my eye on the cap/stick and oil to watch for further developing milk shake. if it doesnt then ill just assume its bad seals and get over it. if it gets worse, or doesnt get any better, am i to asume its a bad HG/cracked head? anyon ehave the torque specs and sequences for intake and exhaust and head bolts? thanks!! :brick:

Well the big question is do you loose coolant. The snot under the oil cap can be condensation however if its on the dipstick also there is a pretty good change, that coolant gets into the oil. Meaning most likely a head gasket or cracked head. Fill the cooling system pressure test it, then observe where the coolant level is at check it after a week or so if coolant disappears you need to do some wrenching

Easiest way to find out is to have the coolant system pressure tested.

i dont loose any coolant at all.

i dont loose any coolant at all.
Then it's just condensation. Happens on mine too if I leave it sit a lot or start it frequently without ever having it warm up.

ah! well, my jeep didnt have a thermostat forever, and i just put one in. also, i was just looking at heads, just in case for worse case scenario, and the sell them with and without a steam vent, WTF is a steam vent??

A steam vent? On the head? Or are you talking about the thermostat?

no, call advanced auto parts... i did for a price ont he new head and my options where WITH a steam vent and w/o a steam vent, and the one with the vent was about 65 bones more if i remember right...
