Title: Terra low and the rpm thing
Post by: aw12345 on November 23, 2008, 02:28:52 PM
Awhile back we came up with the question what this 3000rpm thing actually mend, I posed this question on another forum and what came out is that in 4th and 5 th gear you don't want to go over 3000 rpm. For me it works out to simply keep it under about 12 mph in low range. Feel better about that and yes I absolutely love that screaming little box, makes my little Jeep go places, that I otherwise would be burning the clutch on and helps a ton on control on big rocks. Where other people with bigger tires struggle and work hard my little put put walks right over it got to love it

I don't know but I finally got my Tera Low 4:1 installed leak free (definately got bad advice from TeraFlex on not needing the seal extention :twofingers:) and it is BA.  I had the same worry since a  guy I wheel with (who recomended it when I bought it ) is on his 3rd one  (it sat in my garage for about 8 months before I got around to installing it ).  He has a 6 cylinder though and a heavy foot so I think it is an issue for some.  However its hard for me to get the rpms over 3 when in 4low (auto 4 cylinder :puzzled:).  For the money it seems to be a great mod though 8).

Take the spare bits and add a Box4Rocks doubler...   :wall:

Mine does exactly what I want from it, the little beast claws over rocks like a mountain goat

Not really enough space.  Even with my motor pushed forward 7"  I thought that the rear driveshaft was too short with the box4rocks installed.  Maybe a Box4Rocks/flipped D300 might fit decently.

The Bronco D20's are short too. :naughty: Only about 10 inches from the mounting face to the center of the rear yoke. No need for a flip kit.
