Title: Hard top carpet and seat covers
Post by: JeffsJeep on December 21, 2008, 11:58:33 AM
Hey guys, I have a few questions.  First off I purchased a hard top last week, and it doesnt have the carpet on the inside.  I've seen a few that have the carpet and I've searched around and can't find where to buy this carpet kit at?  Second, my drivers seat has a few cracks in the seat cover, and I can not find anyone who sells factory seat covers.  Now before someone says get an aftermarket set, I say no, they look cheap and feel gross IMO.  Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with these problems.

Does anyone have a set of black door pannels in good shape for sale also?

Carpet on the inside of the top is an aftermarket thing only.  With that said, the build quality of the OEM tops is vastly superior.  If you really want carpet, you can buy some and apply it yourself.

Seat covers?  I would look at Best tops seat covers.  They fit the stock seats nicely and are waterproof.  They are made from denium like what the soft tops were made from, not spandex and cotton like the ones you find at Wally World.

Well I guess I have to order a seal kit for my hardtop as this one didnt come with them.  Does this kit work for everything to seal properly?

Has anyone purchased this kit?  If you have or haven't where do you recommend I get a kit at?

I was reading and I think I have to get a corner seal for the corners of the doors?

Also do I have to get the seal for the back gate or does this one come with it?

Thanks for all your help so far, Jeff

I usually just buy some truck cap seal which comes in a large roll.  Pop the top off then apply the new seal and then drop it back on.  It doesn't look like anything special comes with those Hard Top Seal kits.

If you don't have them then I highly recommend you getting them.  Otherwise you'll end up with a draft.  The bushings also firm up the front so it doesn't move.

Alright I installed my to today and I can't see where the corner pieces go if I were to order them.  Do they go by the door and windshield in front or on the back of the door?

Also installed some silverstar sealed beams in my Jeep today, they work great.  And I installed a new Alipine cd player.   8)

They sit on the front corner of the top on top of the windshield frame.
