Title: Factory lift?
Post by: smashcoast on December 30, 2008, 05:36:25 PM
I was at the river this weekend and a guy had a 2001 TJ Xtreme and it was sitting on 33x12.50's and I looked and it had spacers with plenty of clearence for the tires.

So I asked the guy and he said it was a factory lift. There was no body lift so what else did they do to fit those 33's?

Must be a Dealer Installed package.  This could mean just about anything could have been done, most likely third-party.

Our Jeep dealer around here sells them with lifts, wheels and tires for those people that dont want to mess with doin it there self, they just charge a crap ton for it but you do still get the factory warranty i believe since the dealership put it on.

at one of the ford dealers i worked at the would get lift blocks and leveling kits for the front of the f350's and install the banks kits nd stuff.  it all depends on the dealership so yea anything is possible

I knew a guy a few years ago that had a 2000 TJ sport. He got it from one of the local dealers with 3" suspension lift aftermarket rims and 33's. IIRC it was a Rusty's kit. Full factory warranty on everything.

He should call it a 'dealership lift' and not a 'factory lift', unless he's ashamed he spent too much.

I am friends with the guys that work in the shop at our local 4wheel parts store. They do lifts all of the time for dealerships, as a matter of fact they have a salesrep who's sole job is to sell lifts and accessories to dealerships.

Actually while browsing on a JK forum I found that Mopar sells the long arm RE kit as a Mopar setup that can be installed by the dealer the kit is just about twice the price of the same RE setup

Same goes for their Warn or Ramsey winches. but they have been offering those for a long time now.
