Back again....
My batt charge gauge consistently reads at or near hi scale (~ 17-18 volts) BUT a Fluke multimeter at battery posts while running only shows 14-14.5 VDC. No apparent issues with this other than it bothers me that the gauge reads high.
Anybody else experience this?
Is there a way to adjust the gauge? I don't see any adjustment screw on the face....

With engine off the battery voltage is ~13-13.5 volts measured at battery with Fluke - gauge reads 14-14.5
Been like this since I bought it (only 2 weeks ago)......

My 95 Wrangler has had the same problem since I bought it 7 months ago. At first I thought it was the alternator, but it wasn't. Turned out that the battery was bad, but still not the problem.
The electronic gauges in Jeeps tend to just die every now and then. Usually, the whole cluster goes. This may help you to diagnose and fix the problem:

I haven't done anything about it, I just check it with a voltmeter from time to time. You could install an aftermarket gauge and mount it below the dash if you want to keep an eye on things.

If you have 13-`3.5 volts when the Jeep is shut off you have a problem the battery hould be close to 12-12.5. The gauge seems to be off too, but I would be more worried about this.
