question guys what do you think flares or no flares
-
Depends. Stock-ish jeeps don't look good with no flares unless they're skinny tires. You'll see flareless Jeeps mostly on Jeeps that go offroad since flares tend to get ripped off.
-
Flares do a pretty good job of keeping mud off your jeep if they are wide enough, mine are pretty flexy have rubbed them flat against rocks and they pop right back in shape. No idea what brand they are but they are pretty tough
-
Flares - even offroad. My CJ had none and was constantly throwing stuff at me from the front tires.
-
After having run for awhile without flares, I would say keep them. Im looking at getting some tube fenders for the front with a 3" flare and same thing for the back cause gettin in the mud holes you will get covered quickly
-
i run my off offroad, and on onroad, getting all dirty with no flares is fun, plus i always seen to hit mine on something
-
having no flares is fun for getting muddy and cruzing in town afterwords with a jeep completely covered in mud.... but flares are nice if you want to stay cleaner.. and they are nice for rubbing of rocks and trees without getting body damage.
-
I didnt mind the mud, it was when the tires started throwing rocks at me and breaking the side mirrors
-
Flares if you use this jeep on the street and if your state law dictates them. Getting a inspection ticket sucks :twofingers: :twofingers: [ i know cause i got one and it sucked]
-
Another good reason is to keep the rain water off your windows....in the Winter it is a real PITA...driving through slush each day kicks up a lot of dirty water and I have a real hard time seeing out the sides of my driver and passenger windows. :'(
-
Better to have flares. Mine has them but since the tires stick out I'll get an occasional rock through the open window.
-
I had a pretty good size rock smack the winshield yesterday, didnt crack though, scared the crap outta me
-
Flares :ass:
-
Friends of mine opened their own fab shop and make some slick rear flare blanks, basically a black piece of sheet metal the same shape as the flare, to cover where the flare had been. Goes well with tub fenders up front.
Here's some sick tube flares, I like them better when tied in with the rocker guards and front flares:

Are they making front fenders also or are they just doing rears at the moment?
-
The flare in that picture is a Gen-right isn't it?
-
The pic if from AtoZ fabrication.
Upon a closer look, they are GenRight parts: http://www.atozfabrication.com/store/product.php?productid=16249&cat=287&page=1

:) I don't think A-Z makes anything that isn't just cut out of plate or box tube.
Their price is a bit cheaper than buying direct from GenRight, still a ton of money for something so simple.
