Title: My tail lights keep cutting out
Post by: tj2.5l on January 11, 2009, 01:50:01 AM
There i was driving through the mountains and my tail lights go out ??? the first thing that came to mind was a blown fuse but after checking the fiuse it was fine. Then started the jeep back up turned the lights back on and the tail lights are working as they should but i get not fifty feet down the road and they went out again. :puzzled: It seems like they are just ramdomly shorting out not sure on what but all it take to get them to come back on after they go out is to turn the lights off then back on again. Any Ideas?

Check the grounds.

sounds like a ground issue.. you may want to take off the leans and look inside... my tail lights where nothing but rust inside when i got them and cause them to cut out and then totally die...

Thanks for the imput i checked all my grounds and everything looked fine. Then i started to mess around with the switch  :stick: and When i pull the knob halfway out they work just fine but when i pull it all the way out they cut in and out. Kind of wierd i dont know if i need to order a new switch or if i can repair it. Im to broke so im hoping to be able to repair it. LEDs for sure when i have the money

If all else fails run a jumper from the headlight to the parking light wires on the switch that way everything will work either way
