I've got a set of 4:10 gears for a Dana 44. My question is, is there a way to tell if they came out of a Wrangler Rubicon? If they are, they won't work in my 44 that came out of a scout will they?

Depends on the carrier, the dana 44 carrier break is at 3.92 so if your carrier is 3.92 or smaller the rubocon 4.10 gears should work

Yeah, the problem with the Rubicon's gears is that they're referred to as 'Thick'. This makes them unique in that sense since lower gears are usually 'Thin'. As long as you have the right carrier and I suspect your Scout has a higher carrier, if so then you should be good.

Sweet, the D44 has 3:73 gears in it now.

I did a little research and it appears you likely need to drill a non-Rubi d44 carrier to accept 7/16" ring gear bolts when using a Rubi gearset.
