Im considering having the interior sprayed professionally, but my only concern is the added weight.
Does anyone have this done and if so, do you approximately know how much (if any) weight was added?
We all know we cant afford any weight increase!!!
-
I don't have bed liner yet. However, I don't see it adding enough weight to be a problem. It's nothing like adding 1/4" armor all the way around your Jeep. Seems like it is lightweight enough to not worry about it.

Here's an easy way: figure 1/2 gallon to do 2 good layers on the interior, go to your local auto parts place, pick up a can of herculiner, and your added weight will be no more than that.
In other words, I doubt more than a couple of pounds of weight. If you shed your carpet in return for the insulation and sound deadening properties (not as efficient, but lighter) of the bedliner, then you'll be back to zero or better.

True, I guess i never looked at it that way.
I already ditched the backseat since I have no use for it...so even if the liner weighs the same or probably less I will be ok.
Thank you. It always helps to get an outside prospective.

Not to mention someone else's perspective. lol :beers:

My Jeep is completely Line-Xed inside and out. All of the interior tub, hood fenders, etc. I am sure that there has been some added weight. But, not enough to be noticeable. I will tell you that the clean up is extremely easy, and also a real head turner.
Good luck

oops...my bad!!! Haha thanks for catching that. You know what I meant! :flush:

One thing I forgot to mention. When you don't have carpet it will get very hot in the cab of your Jeep. Heat from the floor board really rises. Winter is fine, but summer is a pain. Not an issue when top is down. Just something to consider.

Ya I could really use that extra heat right about now!!!
The summer I could deal with since the top is usually down...and I have AC!!!
-
I agree the heat rise right now is nice. I don't have AC. One of those (I wish I had ordered) with the Jeep when I purchased it.
-
No a/c here either. None of my Jeeps (4 in total) have had it so far. All of my carpet is out and the floor does get hot. I keep a good set of floor mats in the front, nothing in the back.
-
The only reason I still have my carpet in is it is like brand new. Id hate to take it out.
But I will take it out this weekend and see if there is a heat difference.
The AC is useless with the top down but the days it is raining and the top and windows are up, it helps.
I took the back seat out and seatbelts and stuff so I just keep ammo cans and gear in the back. Im the only one who ever rides in the jeep so I just need a floormat for my side until I get it lined!!!
