Post by: vallejojeeper on February 17, 2009, 10:16:27 PM
Anyone else out there with the 2.4L have high oil consumption?  My 06 TJ has about 33,500 miles on it and I am burning about a quart every 5k miles.....is this normal?
No smoking on start up or idle...no leaks...
Any ideas...suggestions.???
Thanks
Marc

Sorry i cought your post so late.

But i to, have the 2.4L with about 45,000 on it.

I believe my oils been changed twice since i've had my jeep, and its way over due, and i got mine with 18.000 miles on it.

I've only had to put 1qt in it since last yr, and plan to do a hole oil change some time this yr, i guess when i get around to it.  :thumb:

Most car manufactures feel that 1 quart of oil usage on 1000 miles is within acceptable standards
