Post by: cletz97 on March 26, 2009, 07:59:04 AM
How high could i lift the body on a tj before i would have to lengthen anything like drive terrain or cables?
and how big of tires can i fit before i would have to do a lift?

I would not recommend anything over a 1" body lift (you could go higher, but there will be increased stress on the bolts, making it a bit dangerous for my taste; others have gone higher, and it is their prerrogative, but that is my pesonal opinion); if you re talking about suspension lift, then 2.5" is ussually the highest you can go before having to do other mods (although every Jeep is different, and sometimes even 2.5" of lift may cause some vibes).

I too would not do more than a 1" body lift.  Lifts 2" and larger will need a gas hose extention and fan shroud relocation ( a lot of the higher end ones will come with these parts).  Any larger than 2" though your Jeep will start to look retarted though and the 2" is ify. Save your money and get  a true lift if you are wanting 33" or larger tires.
