Title: Should I bite on this deal?
Post by: 01amberfirewv on December 20, 2005, 01:06:41 PM
A club member is selling a D35 with a Super35, 4.88's and a rock ring for $600 and a D30 with 4.88s for $400.  I don't have the tools or the skills to install the gears but could probubly bolt the axles up then keep my D35 for parts.  Is this a good deal?

If so what type of lunch box locker would you put up front?

So $1000 for all of that.  It's a good deal if you want to beaf up the rear quickly and do the gears.  THen sell of your stock stuff for $500 or keep it as spares.

Since the rear doesn't have a locker, I'd look at that first.

The 35 does have a Detroit with the Super35.

Well, I'd probably go with a lunchbox locker.  Brand doesn't really matter since they're all basically the same.

The S35 is gone but the D30 is still for sale.  It has 4.88's in it for $400.  I know I won't be able to install the 4.88's my self but could probubly swap my D30 for this one (it isn't very hard is it?) so is it a good deal?

It depends on how much it will cost to get the gears installed.  Figure around $190 for gears and $60 for the Master Install Kit then if you're lucky, $75-200 for the install.  Could be more if you don't buy the gears from them.  The real problem area is the rear though.  $400 for a stock D30 with 4.88's isn't that good of a deal.
