Title: Strange miss under 2k RPMS
Post by: czjeeper on April 07, 2009, 08:54:56 PM
I'm getting a miss and or a backfire through the intake at just about any throttle under 2k rpms.
What would be causing this?
Many times there isn't really any load, IE on a straight flat stretch.
This happens in any gear at any speed.

I only run Shell, Chevron, or 76.
I also put fuel system cleaner through it every few tanks.

Ugh, I haven't had much luck with Shell.  Ping-city the few times I've run it.

Okay, I just figured something else out.
If it is raining or humid, it gets worse.
On cool, clear days, It barely occurs.
Whatcha got?

My Jeep did this... and i got a 90, and i changed the Coil and the Crank sensor... and it was fixed... so really tell ya which was it, but i know it would just die for no reason... and then other times it would run rough... but its all better now...

Can also be a bad coil and/or distributor cap, both are greatly affected by moisture if there are any problems like cracks, etc.
