So, I finally got around to doing this. Last weekend it was the driver's side that got done, and yesterday it was the passanger's side's turn. I got the Brown Dog industries mounts and brackets, and I have to say they look strong! They are also easier to work with than the stock parts - Especially on the passanger's side, where some bolts are a ROYAL PITA to get to! By the way, here's how my stock mounts looked:
This one is what prompted me to order the new mounts...

Here's the driver's side once it came out...

And the passanger's side one...

And here's the replacement (did not take pics of the passanger's side, but it's basically the same thing)...

I do feel a lot more vibrations now on the Jeep (I ordered the soft rubber ones, but still it has more vibes) bot on the other hand, the jeep does seem to take off faster from a dead stop. I am happy with the results so far.

PS: sorry about the crappy pictures, but I only had my phone on hand...

Hmm, that's what teh bracket is supposed to look like... The OEM replacements are a HUGE improvemnent. Can you tell me what size the center stud is? I think it's Metric but not certain.

ok so in that picture where is that bracket thing that always brakes? looks to me like the mount is bolted directly to the frame mount. or am i missing something / that bracket is only on the drivers side?

The stock or the new one? The stock one I also thik it is metric, but the new one I think is SAE... I can measure it for you if you want.

The stock one.

OK, I'll measure it tomorow...

Glad to hear that someone else got noticeable vibes other than me. I recently installed the MML with rubber and new engine brackets from Brown Dog and had what I thought were major engine vibes. I guess it's normal since there is less rubber to absorb the vibrations as compared to the stock MM. Good job.

You're missing something because that is the driver side mount not the passenger side, where the extra piece is.

fail i thought it was passenger side becasue it would be easier to take a picture of.. but ounce i actually looked at the surroundings its painfully obvious... i looked in the parts catalog for 1988-90 and it doesn't show that extra part anywhere... and mine is currently secured pretty much exactly like the one in the drivers side picture, directly to the frame hoop thing with the 1 stud from the mount and 1 bolt... (is it possible that the early yj's didn't use that piece is my point i think) im going to stop talking now so that i don't over cluder this thread anymore :wall:

It does not appear to be there, but trust me, it is...

Brown Dog doesn't offer the cradle for '87-'90 2.5L either. http://browndogindustries.com/2-5l-i4-1987-1990.aspx

Did you order the regular height ones or the ones with the 1" lift on them

Stock height...

The stock one.
I checked it, and it is metric (1.5)
