I went to the local Autozone to read a CEL on my Chevy Trailblazer,
and they told me that it was now against the law in Ca to loan out a ScanTool!
I almost can't believe this, but it is Ca. What's next.
I can't wait to get transferred out of This state, if this is a sign of thing to come

Hmm, that's strange. Did you ask if this was Company Policy? Depending on the year of your Jeep, you might not need a scanner anyways.

No, just said it was against the law to loan them out.
The jeeps a 2000, its never had a CEL,

I think the desk jockey is an idiot or the stores don't loan them out anymore. They sell the damn thing so I can't see it being against the law. It's not like you can really do much other then read codes from them.
Your '00 should display CEL's on the dash so a reader isn't necessary.

I know it's dumb that they sell them but can't loan them out.
Kragen auto parts told me the same thing. I'm still new to the whole jeep thing, I take it the CEL will blink a code at you?
The scan tool was for a Chevy Trailbalzer, I know more GM stuff then jeep right now , but am learning from this site
