Post by: stan98tj on May 03, 2009, 07:01:04 PM
"shift improver kit" i came across this featured in a rockauto catalog...what is this exactly, what does it do and has anyone here tried one on their auto tranny?

Those kits are generally some springs to make the shifts harder and engagement of the clutches quicker and a bit more positive. No more slip sliding in gear

Stan, if your trans has a kickdown cable, make sure it's adjusted properly. When it's adjusted to loose it gives sloppy shifts due to the lower oil pressure in the trans. Also if your trans has bands make sure they are adjusted right that makes a big difference in how it shifts
