I have a 95 yj with stock suspension. i just bought some skyjacker hydros, has anyone had any problems with putting the rear shocks on. the metal sleeve in the top eye seems to be too small to fit all the way through the top bolt. is there anyway to stretch out this top sleeve?

Is your bolt rusty? If there is corrosion on the shaft of the bolt it can give you fits. I usually have to clean up hardware with the wire wheel on my bench grinder.

You generally don't use the sleeve in the top eye of the rear shock, the stud mounted to the frame is already the same size as the O.D. of the sleeves.

so its ok to take the metal sleeve out and mount it directly through the polyurethane bushing? that wont cause excessive wear over time on the bushing w/o the metal sleeve in place?

The sleeve does not prevent wear. It too is fixed in place so it will not move.
