I was hoping to see if anyone had a picture of the 4wd shifter linkage 0n a 97 and up TJ. I went through some deep gunk and somehow snagged a log with my stock mud shovel (trans skid plate). I'm getting a slight vibrating banging noise under my drivers foot and after looking around it seems like the 4wd shifter linkage might've gotten bent. Just wanted to see if I could compare and see which part is bent.

They used the cheap ass plastic snappy thingys at the end of the linkages... Did you blow one of those out?

If your linkage is bent it will be hard to shift into 4wd but shouldn't cause a vibration. Also I agree with the cheap plastic parts!

I can shift into both 4hi and 4lo - 4lo is a little hard to get into. It kinda looks like one of the link rods is rubbing up against another one. From memory, when I did my body lift and motor mount lift, I don't think they were like that, but that was also about a year ago. I tried looking up install pics of a body lift where they used a drop down bracket, just to see how the linkage might look. Couldn't find any clear pics though. I will definitely have to check out the bushings though. Thanks guys

Just an update regarding my shifter linkage.
I had installed both a jks mml and a jks 1.25 body lift on my TJ. According to the jks install instructions you don't need to use the supplied linkage adapter if you install both body and mml at the same time. After dealing with the annoying tap tap tap on my floor board for 3 months :brick:, I finally got under the jeep and dropped the skid plate to have a look. Apparently the linkage was twisted way too much and it was rubbing against itself. I put on the adapter plate and used what jks refers to as hole "A".For anyone that installs both jks lifts I would highly recommend that you use the linkage adapter anyway. You will have to adjust the linkage to be able to get into 4lo but at least you won't lose your mind from all that damn tapping. :thumbsup:

after installing the teraflex shifter bracket ill never use the stock setup again..

just wanted to add that the shifter linkage is a bi@$h and the best thing i did was lower
the body mount to keep the shift linkage level.

It's BS that they tell you to not use the drop bracket when using the MML, the body is still raised 1"-1.25" over the transfer case as it doesn't move much when the MML lift is installed. The transfer case is basically a pivot point for the drivetrain when a MML is installed, the motor goes up and the TC tailshaft goes down.

Yeah-- it coulda been the A-hole that works at jks and did a half ass job during R&D
