has any one without a turbo done a alk injection setup on there 2.5l tj
i have done this to my turboed wrx sti and got much better gains from the turbo
i have also done it in a lancer and it worked really good +15 hp
looking to turbo my 2.5 soon(after college)
but i do have a 4.0 tb and spacer matched the intake and have done a cai in the cowl electric fan conversion
i know it will help the engine not knock and it adds hp

what's an alk injection?

what's an alk injection?
I would assume he means an Alcohol Injection System.
-
alky is used in FI apps like you've used it before.I see no gains or reason to do it on an N/A engine.
if your getting KR on the stock 2.5 then start with changing fuel grade, plugs 1 heat range lower and a 160/180* t-stat.

the lancer had no turbo
also did it to a mazda and that had no turbo
i have a 97 tj which is fuel injected un like yj's which have a carb
i have seen alky injections on jeeps like mine but i am looking for what people say of them on jeeps cause i cant find the guy who i know has done it
the one guy i talked to with a 97 tj 2.5 said it was great off road cause it kept the temp lower and he had more power than some of the guys he wheeled with he than turboed his jeep and ran a better alky system and along with the innercooler it ran perfect also he just put on larger injectors

Water/Methanol injection is what your looking for, I run winter windshield washer fluid, something around 40/60 mix on my Turbo YJ. You can run straight methanol however computer tuning is required, good luck having that done to a Jeep ECU. Don't need to worry about timing or an intercooler, also allows you to use lower octane gas.. You can get kits for N/A, T/A or Supercharged from Snow Performance, Cooling Mist, Devils Own, Alcohol Injection Systems and others.

Devuurstorm JFYI YJ's are fuel injected 87-90 are TBI injected and 91-95 are MFI injected.
-
only yj's that aren't fuel injected are the ones with the 4.2l (87-90)
-
thanks for telling me that only the 4.2 is carbed
helped a friend do a nutter bypass the other week and that is the only yj i have worked on so i just assumed stuff
