I know this is a long shot, but is anyone running skinny 32's (32x10.50)? i bought 5 Rubicon wheels and I'm debating on what tires to get 245/75 or 265/75. I would settle for a 2.5" lift with 245's, but I want a wider tire like the 265's and just put a 3.5" lift, which would leave better options down the road for 33's or bigger with some shackles. I also wanted to see how it would look. Thanks in advance for the input!

The first number is tire height second is width. I run 305/70 bfg mt on rubi. they are substantually bigger then 33 but not quite 35. No rub really even in back w narrower than stock 8.8

Check my build (ryno build) in build section or I could txt u better pics cause i am limited to my phone 773-447-9580 or me myspace drunkencityworker@hotmail.com

I'm running 33x10.50's and plan on going to 35x10.50's when I need new tires. Plenty of Toyota's run pizza cutters. I've had great results with the skinny tires.

I found 2 tires more along the 31x10.50 range, which is what I want. The Interco Thornbird and the Cooper Discoverer STT. The Thronbird is cheaper, but I haven't heard much about them other than they're a poser tire and I haven't heard great things about Interco either. Can anyone give any input? Thanks!
Drunken: I don't have a myspace, could you email the pics? zspaniol@hotmail.com

Friends don't let friends drive with Thornbirds. They are pretty much :crap: The SST is a good tire. Cooper make the tires for Pro-Comp too. I wish the SST came in my size I think I would give them a whirl. I also like the KM2.
There is a TON of 31-10.50 15's on the market.

Interco make great offroad tires. I wouldn't run any of the radials though.

Why not Interco radials? Bias ply suck on the street but they are great offroad.

I had Cooper stt'sn they where good wheeling tires just very hard to get balanced.
Other than that they did great in rocls, snow and what little mud I could find in winter.
As far as offroading goes they where every bit as good as my MTR's

I run 34x10.50 LTB's on my YJ and love the way they wrk only thing I don't like is the tread life, they wear very quickly, so I picked up a second set of tires and wheels and now I run 33x9.50 BFG AT's on road and the LTBs off, this to me is a great way to have a Jeep set-up, I personally wouldn't want a wider tire 99% of the time, only time I want wider is when I'm in a bottomless mud pit, then I would like to have more floatation, but that isn't where I spend most of my time, so I deal w/ it, heck thats what staps and friends are for, lol.
Now w/ that said, how do you use/plan to use your Jeep, that will make a big difference on what you want for tires.

From what I've been told my friends, the SSR & TSL Radials suck. They don't offer many more miles then the bias ply but cost more.

x2, 34x10.5 LTBs here too. I see no problem with using these on a DD if your commute is short. But they absolutely suck in rain and wear relatively quickly. I would never drive them on the freeway in a rainstorm but around town they are probably okay.

33x12.50 BFG M/T great in the rain on the hwy but needs attention when cornering on wet road, well so is my Camaro but i feel that with the Jeep compared to dry there is a significant difference in cornering speed (starts throwing out the rear very easily)

i have bfg mt and i dont like them in rain compared to my old bfg at. but well worth it when offroad.

I ordered my lift Friday (2.5") and I'm going with 31's. I found 31x10.50r16 tires! Parnelli Jones Dirt Grips. Not only are they the size I want, but I've read nothing but good reviews about them.
Drunken: Thanks for the pics, your YJ is mighty sharp!

:roflol: unless it's a typo i guess he'll have to

You know if PJ Tires were that good, you'd expect to see more of them and you don't. I don't know anyone who runs them. They're fairly pricey as well. I think I'd rather go with a GY MT/R or a BFG KM-2 in a 15".

I found some rubicon wheels on craigslist for cheap. The wheels that came on the Jeep are chrome and beginning to rust. I figured I would just sell the wheels and tires together.

The price is actually not much different than BFG or MTR 31's. The PJ's are a little cheaper. Some people on other forums had good things to say about them. And I can pretend it doesn't say PJ on the tread pattern, but JP ;)

I have 235x85-16's.
Work out to 32" tall and mine are the Toyo Mud Terrains.
Worked awsome in CO elk hunting last week and really helped my gas mileage.

I took your advise and put the rubicon wheels on craigslist so I can get 15" wheels with 31" MTZ's.

Really? I'll have to keep that in mind. Don't bias ply kinda suck in the winter on the street? As far as they can be kinda "bumpy" until they are warmed up?

This happens all year. It's worse in the winter since it takes longer for the tires to warm up and round themselves out again. A friend of mine runs some Pitbull tires. He keeps his front end on jack stands since it sits for long periods without use to help prevent some nasty wobble until the tires warm up.
