Title: Motor mounts and engine swaps
Post by: jofromga on September 22, 2009, 03:52:20 PM
Have a question for you guy that are certainly smarter than I am.  I am swapping out a 2.5 out of a '91 Comanche and replacing it with a 4.0.  I  have all the details worked out except for the motor mounts.  I was told that the original frame brackets would work.  But it seems that the brackets are mounted to close to the firewall.  What exactly do I need to do/change to make the 4.0 slide right in?  Thanx. :hitit:

I'm pretty sure the frame brackets from a 4.0L cherokee will bolt in, haven't done it myself.

It worked great.  Got frame brackets from 2000 Cherokee (a Cash 4 Clunker, what a waste!) Bolted right onto 1991 frame, and 4.0 set down perfectly onto the brackets.  Easier than imagined!
