Title: Trans Dipstick Problem - Need Your Help
Post by: yikes on November 15, 2009, 01:17:17 PM
My problem: Looks like the 1998 TJ I just bought has the wrong trans dipstick in it. Does any one have a 1997 or 1998 TJ with an automatic trans in it ? ----- that would take some measurements from you trans dipstck ?---- so I can remark or "make" a dipstick for mine ? It has to be a 97 or 98 - I am told by the local dealer. The part number for the one I need is 52118063 or 52104278 AA. But is discontinued . Numbers should be stamped on stick.

Thanks.

No but if you need and cant find one you can always get an aftermarket one from locar

You still need the factory measurements with the locar.  :stick:

So his question is quite valid, whats the distance from cap to upper and lower fill marks.

The measurement from the rubber seal to the max line is 25 3/4". From the seal to the min line is 26 1/4". Hope this helps.
