Where can I get refurb(Ford!?) fuel injectors for my 2.5? I am a little skeptical of the junkyard ones from what I have read on some threads. Also, which ones do I order?
Thanks.

You can get them off ebay, if you dont want to do the junkyard deal... but they are both still used. What kind of jeep do you have?

I want to know the same Question, What do i need for my 2.5L. I have a 97 tj, geared 4.88, 4.0 tb and tbs, banks header, cat back, arb safari snorkel w/ k&n filter, and synthetic lub. I want to know what kind of injectors do i need for mine? i dont understand the whole scale!

I have a known good working set of stock injectors for a YJ. PM me if interested.

are the yj injectors better than the factory tj, i though that it was the other way around? like i said i do not know anything about which injector to use and whats better for my application. i did read jeffys thread about them but did not get what i need to apply to my jeep (1997 TJ 2.5L). So i guess what im trying to say is my injectors work fine but i want improvement, so what do i need to do that? I know how to change injectors and everything just dont know what applicatiion i need for improvement with out going to summit racing and spending a fortune! sorry if it sound jumbled

Look for some Ford 24# injectors. Design III with the 4 hole pintle. They come up on ebay. Prices vary. I would suggest cleaning them before installing, so you don't go thru the mess I went thru.

you cannot use YJ injectors in a TJ - the YJ ones flow too little compared to the TJ ones even at the increased 49psi pressure:
YJ - 17.4lb/hr@39psi,
TJ - 23.2lb/hr@49psi
YJ injector on TJ - 19.5lb/hr@49psi (quite short of 23.2 which is what you should have at the minimum).

thats what i though from reading jeffys thread, so where should i get my injectors from, what other type car?

Low mileage Fords. You can find them on ebay fairly easily. I'd look for clean one as they are most likely in better shape. My first set were from a Mustang. The second set were from a F150... Go with the Design II's as they are better. Even Mustang guy's swap their Design I's for II's.

i think he was asking what p/n or flow (he's got a TJ).
-
well yes i was asking p/n and flow but the ford thing def help get me closer to the answer i was looking for thanks. so ford design IIs. Now what flow?

Well, I'd go by colors since they are easy to spot then to dick around with p/n's. Do a search on ebay and look for blue (Navagator), white (F-series) or black (Mustang Cobra). Then confirm them with a bit of searching.
-
I realize that but what flow and i have searched and your thread is very complex in explination.
-
I found some black mustang ones that are 80#, Blue ones that are 39#, Light blue ones that are 24#, and yellow that are 19#. Im guessing the 24# or the 39# right, i know 80 # and 19 are not the right way, to much and to little.
-
i also found some ford 24# bosch racing injectors design III for 64 bucks. But the factory tj is 23# so is that that much better?

39lb/hr is way too much, your PCM won't be able to compensate so that is out of the question.
remember that you have to also consider the pressure at which they are rated - the TJ runs at 49psi and the 23.2lb/hr is the stock flow at that pressure, you put an injector that flows 24lb/hr at 43.5psi and you will get 25.47lb/hr static flow which is 9.5% more. But what are you trying to achieve though, do you need that much fuel? what is your afr at wot? you increase the fuel by 10% and you decrease the afr by roughly the same amount, at around 10% you should be fine, you'll get some power increase but your mpg will go down. that example is for 43.5psi reference pressure, so keep that in mind, you need to know the pressure at which the injectors are rated at and calculate the flow at 49psi which is the pressure on the TJ.
-
Stock is 23.2# so you want to stay above that so 24's would be a good start. I think 39's will be a little too much.

yeah that was what i was thinking too, thats why im asking so many Q's because i have no clue about the afm or anything sooooo.
