does anyone have a 4-link coil setup on their rig i am thinking of possibly doing one on my rig but i am not having much luck finding out the particulars of how to set one up, i understand the concept but am not finding what are the optimal length for the links and the angles that i should be shooting for for it to wrk properly. i am not opposed to buying some sort of kit with the brackets and such but if i can find all the info i need i can make them myself as i work at a sheetmetal shop with all of the equipment available to me. Any direction u can point me into or knowledge u may have on the subject will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
man i seem to be clueless lately on this stuff i'm not that dumb really i'm not

Flyin High used to sell a kit for YJ's, Their pics and drawings were pretty good on line.
Theie kit though is about 7K by the time you buy all the toys...
I have a local shop that does that kind of work, 4 links with massive coil over shocks etc.
He told me he has yet to find a kit that is any easier than just fabbing the parts.
The trick is can you build it so all the joints move in the same arcs so there is not much binding....?

i think Jesse-James has some info in the projects section on how he did his rear axle coil conversion - he used TJ coil springs i believe.

Gen-Right sells a kit. It's not 100% bolt-on though. It just gives you the arms and mounts and you have to locate them.

thanks the gen right kit is just what i was looking for something that has the geometry basically figured and a good starting point

I bought my axle with the truss, crossmember and tabs done already. Just widened the tabs for Johnny Joints, made the links, and hung it. Here's some pics though....

looks good man it is alittle in the future tho i am planning on swapping to an 8.8 and a 44 in front to get my weak axle issues resolved before start on the suspension and it seems to that to do it how i want to do it is goning to be a slightly pricey project but i only want to do it once so i have nothin but time. . . . .i guess

Always cheaper to do it right the first time.

what did u use for springs and shocks on the rear i was looking at king coilovers but they are alittle rich for my blood but they all seem to be about the same price for a full coilover with 14-16 in of travel. What are u using to limit your axle drop do you have limiting straps on it somewhere or are your shocks just fully extending and limiting the axle movement?

Stock TJ rear coils, I have a set of rubi springs going in soon though for a bit higher spring rate. Shocks are Skyjacker Hydro's from their scratch&dent Ebay store.

Here (http://www.muddtanks.com/4LinkSuspArticle.htm) is a nice 4-link article if you can custom build what you are wanting.

I'm installing a Clayton kit on my TJ. They have some DIY parts as well - frame brackets, axle trusses, tube ends, johnny joints, etc. This is weld on, not bolt on.
