Of course i'd swap my sensors but are the cores 100% swappable?
I keep reading the TJ's need to exclusively use the TJ 4.0 tb. Is this true???
Will the 4.0 tb be bigger bore than the intake manifold of the 2.5L?
-
It's a direct swap, although my 62mm throttle body would be better

Great! Thanks!
I was reading at a few different places that it was NOT and that I needed a 4.0 TJ one and that an XJ wouldnt work...due to some vaccuum hose or something like that.
I could not understand what the difference might have been on the TJ in comparison to the YJ.
So, go ahead and get it is the general concensus? Its definetely good to go?

You first mentioned TJ and XJ, now you're throwing in the YJ.
The TJ and XJ 4.0L throttle body in the '96+ jeeps are identical.
YJ throttle bodies are different as they don't have the vacuum port for the attached MAP sensor. The YJ's MAP sensor is on the firewall.

Lol, sorry for the confusion :beers:
My only concern was that the 97 XJ throttle body im buying tonight will be the right one for my 97 TJ.
Seems like it will be !!!
Thank you! :thumb:

No the right throttle body for your TJ is one of my 62mm Performance Throttle Bodies, but yeah, that XJ TB will bolt right up to your TJ :wall:

Lets keep the pimping to the Vendors forum...

Just razzing, you can delete if you like.

Well I got a 62mm but am not planning to keep it. I dont feel like doing the port matching on the manifold...
Anyone interested?
Its in the for sale section
:hitit:

This was a great driveability improvement on my YJ.
Well worth the hour or two to grind the manifold...
I'd do it twice!
