I too like Jim Allen. He was on the 4banger mailing list. I don't really like Moses Ludel's stuff as much. I have Jim's Buyer's Guide as well as the first edition of the Jeep 4x4 Performance Handbook.
I'd look for his second edition: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0760326878/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=076030470X&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0M4DRQPPWQYRW13TM8Q7
