Recheck any connectors you had disconnected during the head gasket R2.

The crank sensor is bolted to the flywheel housing on the top left side and the connector should be near your manifold.

do you have spark? did you plug back the vac hoses properly? did you plug back the tps, MAP, IAT, temp sensor(s), dist, coil, crank sensor?

do a run thru all these, if you're unsure of the vac lines take some pics and post them.

No fuel pressure at the rail eh?  Do you hear the fuel pump kick on when you first turn the ignition switch on?

You can bypass the relay for testing

you can use any generic relay that matches the amperage rating or bigger, just pull it and take it to an auto-parts store and you can pick one off the shelf

EDIT: when i said bypass the relay i meant to power the pump directly from the battery, that way you can see if it's the pump or circuit to the pump or the relay

i see - you could've done that w/o unplugging the cps (for future reference)

yesterday the jeep ran fine....now today i had to pump the gas like crazy to get it to start and when it did it missed like crazy....i pulled the wires off one at a time and 3-4 didn't kill the motor 1-2 did and my cat got red hot after about 10 mins of ruff idle???i thought timing but the distributer never was touched???i cut the cat off still misses but starts easier

it's either you're running too lean or your ignition advance is too low (not enough spark advance) - the latter is very unlikely as it's controlled by the PCM, running lean is my guess and by what you explained previously (no fuel pressure) i think that's what the problem is - have you checked the fuel pressure? what about the fuel filter, when did you replaced it last?

i had the same prob once, the Jeep would only idle and would die the moment i would try to start rolling.
