Title: 1991 2.5L and the Magnaflow Part# 23229
Post by: ddrongowski on February 02, 2010, 09:45:01 AM
I am going to replace the catalytic converter with the Magnaflow http://www.car-sound.com/02product/displaydirectfit01.asp?catalogid=22892&directfit=23229 (http://www.car-sound.com/02product/displaydirectfit01.asp?catalogid=22892&directfit=23229). Is the air injection tube on the Magnaflow is used or does is get plugged? I have been under the jeep a few times but have not noticed a tube on the stock catalytic converter. Yes I am also going to install the Magnaflow SS cat back exhaust also.

Normally they come plugged.  Not sure about that one in particular.

EDIT:
Car Sound installs a factory capped, 90 degree air tube on “with air” converters. This saves time during installation. There is no need for additional labor to weld on an air tube or to create a bend when only an air tube stub is provided.

So it's capped from the factory

yeah, mine has a tube that was capped just like oldjeep said. Not sure why but the one without a tube was more expensive (both were generic ones), so i went for the one with the tube.
