Title: 1997 TJ 2.5
Post by: Sailingdude02 on March 05, 2010, 07:32:30 PM
Hey all,

I am new to the forum and have been looking around. I have a some questions regarding the 4.0 TB Swap, and #19 Injectors. First, do you feel it was worth it? Also what years in throttle body should I look for for my Jeep? Is it direct bolt on? Also what is involved in the injector swap, and what injectors would you use?

Thanks in Advance.

'96-'04 throttle body as they have the mount for the MAP at the base of the TB.  '91-'95 TB's don't have the MAP mount.

The 4.0L is worth it, and the 62mm TB is worth it even more if you can find one at a decent price.

like he ^ said for the t/b, it's an easy swap other (but take the idle valve and housing off and also the tps from the stock t/b)
for your other question - use an adjustable FPR (fuel pressure regulator) rather than swapping injectors

wasn't part of the reason for getting the ford 19# injectors was they have a better spray pattern for better fuel atomization?

they're better from that perspective but they will not give you any performance improvement more the opposite (negligible loss but it's there) - i thought he's asking about more power and not what idles better

I didn't know they made an  adjustable fuel pressure regulator for the TJ? Where can I find it?
