3 pens, a screwdriver, and a ton of dust bunnies
-
I found 2 unpaid parking tickets from the PO...

Nothing since I don't put stuff on the "dash" I do prop up my phone in that slot though. If you drop something back there you don't have to drop the windshield though. You can usually fish it out to the passenger side. The Driver side has the wiper motor in the way.

2 lighters ,and a really weird fake mouse(I guess a cat toy) kinda freaked me out at first glance
-
doesnt the windshield leak after you drop it? ive heard it doesnt seal up quite right anymore.

That only happens when the seal is already dried out and needs to be replaced anyway.

While were on the subject, any tricks to keep the frame from rusting out in the bottom corners?
I noticed Chrysler injects foam into the corners. Something tells me thats probably a contributing factor. ?

Where exactly are you referring to?

Sorry bout that. The windshield frame.

Bottom corners near the glass or the bottom of the frame? The corners near the glass is a common spot for rust. It's caused by dirt sediment getting behind the gasket piece that covers the slot. Sediment absorbs water and holds it there till the metal rusts. The way to prevent this is to wash the Jeep occasionally and make sure to spray into the gap area. Coating that area with an extra layer of paint wouldn't be a bad idea either.
If you mean the frame, then that's another problem all together. When the jeep is painted it isn't painted with everything off. This means some parts go unpainted or some places are very lightly painted like behind the windshield hinge on the body. Also, you need to make sure water isn't leaking into the windshield frame from either up top or on the sides. (see my 'it still leaks' thread.) Water trapped in the frame will cause rust since the inside isn't painted. Also, if your cowl seal is old it will retain water like a sponge and hold it there. Since the instrument panel isn't usually painted, it will rust under the cowl seal and cause the jeep to leak from the dash as well...

Bottom corners near the glass. yup. :thumb:

When I lowered mine back in like December to fix my wipers, I found an ooooooold, rusty bic lighter, and the credit and debit cards I lost a few months beforehand. I guess I must have set my wallet on the dash for a few seconds and they fell out up there?
-
I lowered mine down right after I bought the Jeep just to see how it all worked. I found a good amount of sand (it was driven some on the beach by the PO) and some pine needles. How the pine needles got in there, I have no idea

I found an old rusted lighter from the Riveria Hotel and Casion in Las Vegas NV ;)
