Just use a synthetic and you don't need to worry about any special fluids. 75-90 or 90-140, 2 bottles.

95YJ came with open diff unless someone did an aftermarket upgrade.

I don't believe Trac-Lok was a option for 2.5L's. A quick look at the diff for ID tags would also tell you. There would be two tags.

Thanks very much guy's! I have only one tag. the rear has been changed before because i can see new orange RTV. The tag does not say if it is limited slip or not! It has a 4 11 with other #'s. I thought there was another way to tell if it has limited slip? I really appreciate the help. James...

you could figure it out if you lift one wheel off the ground and have it in neutral (of course with proper stops on one of the wheels so it won't roll on you) - if you rotate the lifted wheel and it spins freely it is an open diff, if you can't or it's hard to spin it then could be LSD or some sort of auto-locker.

You can also jack both tires off the ground and spin one. If the diff is open the opposite wheel will rotate in the opposite direction. If it is LSD or locked both will spin in the same direction.

My guess is that it does not have a LSD. They will have TWO ID tags. One for the gearing and the other for the LSD. Like I said the 2.5L didn't have the option for a LSD. Even with the 4.0L's you needed the full size spare option to be able to get it.
Even if it had one, I doubt it would be working as they were crap from the factory. The clutches were weak and wore out quickly. If you really want to know, then take the cover off. You should easily be able to ID the carrier. LSD will have a bunch of clutches and springs on one side.

OK Guy's. You helped me out! I did remove the diff cover and it is NOT a limited slip diff! I have only one tag plate, It reads from top of plate: 52068832 4 11 5661-2
I believe this is telling me that i have 4-11 gear ratio? The rest of the numbers I'm not sure! Being that the diff is not a limited slip, Can i put a limited slip gear oil in the rear or will this not work. I've already have the oil from changing my 4x4 quads gear oil. Buy the way, the jeep is all stock, i should of mentioned this in the beginning!

A gear oil with the LS friction modifier should not hurt the diff in any way.

what does it say on the oil for the quad?
you can always use mineral oil for the diff, it's quite cheap - not sure on the one for quad, it could be different load rating but yeah the friction modifier will not hurt as long as the oil itself is compatible.
