Title: Upcoming, multi-day wheeling trips
Post by: FourbangerYJ on May 10, 2010, 07:49:33 PM
So what's on the list of place to go this year.

I'm gonna spend 4 nights and 5 days on the Dusy in July. Then in Aug. I plan on 3 nights 4 days on Swamp Lake. Both of these are in the Sierra's. I look forward to the Dusy all year!

going to Colorado in July for a week.. but my jeep is staying behind  :'(, trailer is only big enough for one wrangler. not multiple days on one trailer but multiple days of wheeling. other than that a few weekend trips in state are in the works... if i didn't have finals this week i would be leaving for texas palo duro jeep jamboree on Wednesday... :brick:

would be cool to do a trial that takes multiple days to complete and camp out on the trial with the jeep. just none near me that are long enough. and when in Colorado we have 4 people in 1 jeep so not enough room for gear...

One of our big trips for the club is going to silverlake up in michigan in september and then wilstem ranch in southern indiana that IFWDA puts on every year.  Im hoping to make it to both of those, other than that its just little trips to badlands or redbird for us

Our club does a multi-day trip over Memorial Day weekend to Big Bear.  We also do Saline-Eureka in Death Valley over Columbus Day weekend as well as something in the northern Sierra area in July-August.  Too many trips, not enough money!

The local club here in Costa Rica just did a Jamboree with some people that drove all the way from Guatemala last weekend.  It was 3 days and 2 nights of some serious mud wheeling...  One Toy actually fell off a cliff (about 100 feet down!), but luckily, no one was injured.

Pretty sad, but I haven't driven anything since the Rubicon late last year.  It's not the tires -- the 31s I have are ok and can get you a lot of trails through if you don't mind a lot of rock on armor banging.  But the back end is unlocked and I don't want to lock it without changing to a better rear end.  After the Rubicon last year, I kind of said, "you need to save yourself some hassles later on and at least get the rear end locked."  Until that day, I'll probably be down if you guys are doing moderate stuff in the SouthWest U.S. area and my schedule can handle it.

Yes....I will be there.  Doesn't start until the evening, so we will be scoping out a good spot on the trail to watch.  The owner will then let our group set up there...but we have to stay in that spot for the whole race (a couple of hours).

High desert roundup is at the end of the month. It's a Cal4wheel event that's a pay to play. If your not a member you can join online or at the event. The trails there are mild to pretty wild.
Anyway I am going to be there on Sunday the 30th just for the day to help my club with the teeter totter. Sunday is the games day, it's a buck a try at whatever game you want to try. Not sure it they will check to see if your a Cal4wheel member or not. They need the  money to help fight land closure so every buck helps. If you want to drive out for the day on Sunday. I don't think your to far from me if you want to caravan.

This goes for anyone who wants to go. If you just go for the games on Sunday the 30th I don't think there is a fee. Just come out and hang out and play some games.

That sounds pretty good 4BangerYJ.  I'll have to see how many days I can be there.

This weekend, 3day wheelin trip to My Little Pony Offroad near Farmington MO.  Awesome park
I guess the cuss word filter changed the name of the park, not sure it'd see much business with a wuss name such as that LOL.  Let's try W*a*s*h*i*t*a Offroad near Farmington MO.

Family is hitting Moab June 12-19. On the way back east, we're hitting sw CO scenic byways, ghost towns, couple passes, and by the end of the week ending in CO Springs for a long day across KS to back home. Kids are coming (16/14) and I'm trying to get my wife to go as well.
Mot sure what the next big run will be, but I'd like to put the doubler/flat belly and add a 'RK upper-link in the rear to get rid of the track bar. Will probably hit Disney, OK to get a feel for the lower gears and new twisty suspension.
