Well, when i had my rear jacked up and installing tires, i noticed i could pull the drivers rear axle out farther than seemed normal. The pass rear axle pulls out about a 1/4" or a tad less. That seemed normal to me. But the drivers rear pulls out like 3/4" or so.
Is that acceptable?
If not, what is the problemo and remedy?
Ive had the diff cover off when changing all fluids. Nothing broken or jumping out at me.

Is this a d35 or something else?
-
3/4" of play is excessive
-
Yeah, something's up with 3/4" There should be about 1/4" of play with the center pin in.
-
bearing carrier, but then should have the same problem on both sides - i can't see the center pin being worn out that much and the c-clip is about 1/4'' thick so that's not it either - i guess taking the diff cover off would give the answers to this. the end of the axle is about 1/4 '' as well (between the c-clip groove and the end) so that's another negative - combine the c-clip and axle end and you still get a max of 1/2'' at which point the axle would actually come out. the only other thing i can think of is a cracked carrier but i would think there would be some nasty noise coming out of it when rolling so unlikely).

Thanks for the replys. (im still not getting notifications. :( )
I will check it out.
Its the stock rear axle. So i think its a d35.

Ok. Imuh dumbass.
I took the tire off to have a good look at the actual axle movement. Its exactly 1/8".
The pass side is exactly half that. So all i can assume is late hours and too much guiness (and my buddy saying thats waaaay too much axle movement) caused me to over guesstimate the play.
:crap:
lol

Google started throwing mine in the SPAM folder about 2 weeks ago. I cleared them by selecting all and clicking Not Spam. Now they're all good here.
At first, I thought I wasn't getting any because the GMail interface doesn't give you a view of the SPAM folder without expanding the view.
