Some POS clipped the corner of my Jeep. Practically removed my license plate. Luckily, that's the extent of the damage. Circumstantial evidence seems to point to the street sweeper that went by yesterday. The POS didn't even bother to leave a note. I can tell he swept close since it leaves a sweeper mark on the road. I don't think there is anything I can really do as I did not see it happen though. I'm not even sure what company he works for and they only come once a month.

That sucks! Luckily you had no more damage as that would proly be a PITA to get from the city.

That sucks! The city does the street sweeping where I live.
Good time to move the plate somewhere else.

I emailed the city's public works and will see if it goes anywhere. Problem with moving the plate is that I'd have to rig up a light for it. I still don't have a light but it's in an OE location so it looks sort of legal. Moving it to the spare would be a better location but then it would make removing the spare more of an issue. I don't have the tools to make a disconnect for it yet.

Bummer

were you on the road. I know here if your in the way and they posted they were going to sweep you can get a ticket for being in the way.
but I don't know how close to the road you actually were.

Well, at least it's not as bad as what happened to my Dad's car. His was new, I think maybe a few weeks old when he was clipped by something large like a garbage truck or delivery truck. It screwed up the rear quarter panel with major bumper rash. Scratched the panel and screwed up the gap around the trunk. He didn't bother claiming it but I'm sure it's several hundred dollars worth of damage if the underside is OK.
I haven't bothered to fix mine yet. The outer clips for the license plate hinge are off and it needs to be beat into submission. I'd rather not move the plate just yet. The scratch and bumper rash on the corner are minor and would be covered by a quarter panel guard when I get around to buying one.

Forget the corner guard, it's time to break out the Rage Gold. Get your Bondo on! :wall: ;).
