Title: i got a smokey one
Post by: greasy knuckles on January 26, 2006, 02:59:46 PM
I have a 81 cj5 with a 151 c.i. "4-banger". I had a valva job done cause it would smoke going downhill under compresion and sometime when I first start it.  Well that didnt help :(  The cylinder walls were smooth so I ruled out a broken ring.  Any help?  I also bought a Chilton's manual which said on the front cover that "Includes Vacuum Diagrams" but to my surprise not one for a 81 cj5 with a 151 c.i.  Any help?

Hmm, if you checked the cylinder walls while you did the vavle job, the only thing I can think of is either blow by from the PCV valve not working correctly OR your rings are bad.

Need to do a compression check and see.
